The Ohio State University Cardiovascular Imaging Research Center (CIRC) was founded in April 2005 in response to the growing demand for cardiovascular MRI and CT applications in biomedical research as well as the clinical setting. CIRC is supported at OSU by the Dorothy M. Davis Heart and Lung Research Institute ,the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine, and the Department of Radiology. Its cardiovascular imaging facilities are located in the OSU Richard M. Ross Heart Hospital providing state-of-the-art MR/CT equipment for the development and application of MRI and CT methodology in biomedical research and clinical practice. The CIRC research offices and image processing laboratory are located in Doan Hall on the OSU Medical Center main campus. The CIRC research team consists of engineers, cardiologists and scientist focussing on the development and evaluation of new methods of obtaining structural, functional and physiological information by MRI and CT. CIRC also provides education and training for physicians, fellows, students, and technologists in the constantly changing technology of cardiovascular MRI and CT. CIRC frequently organizes workshops for practicing physicians and technologists on the latest trends and advancements in cardiovascular MRI and CT, and also offers extended training from 1 month to 1 year in duration. |
